Community Highlights - December 2023
The holidays are here, and what better way to celebrate than sharing community spotlights and sharing updates from our partner companies.

Richard Clinton, an avid Gloomahven fan and player, posted photos over the years of his kids in the Gloomhaven boxes. Our staff really found it cute, and we reached out to Richard for the story behind the photos.
“I did it as an unboxing joke.”, said Clinton. “The Year 1 photo is everyone's favorite, as I feel it's what everyone feels like the first time looking at most instruction manuals.”.
“Throughout the years, I had my daughter, Roxley, and other kids involved heavily with board games. I was pretty persistent at posting photos of playing while one of the kids in my lap through the years.
I did it to try and make having a family and playing board games a positive experience.
So, every year in October, I do a photo of the kids in Gloomhaven as a reminder. While they're aren't old enough yet, I look forward to running through GH with them!”.

Wedding-haven
Adam and Moira from AZ tied the knot in a Gloomhaven-filled wedding.
The lovely couple had bespoke Gloomhaven items adorning their reception, and even had the games on display on their sweetheart table.
You may have seen them volunteering in the Cephalofair Games booth during the SDCC 2023 show.

Color vs Gray
To celebrate the Gloomhaven Grand Festival, Folded Space decided to release a new insert for Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion, in addition to the Gloomhaven 2nd Edition insert and Map Tile Archive that they were a part of the campaign.
This was the first time Folded Space re-released one of their gray inserts in full color, although they also changed the way the insert functions. All of the trays now feature the art of the game, which makes it easy to see where all of the components go.
Unlike the original version, which uses the tuck boxes to store each character’s components, the color design features a tray to sort the character cards. Folded Space chose to continue selling both versions, though, so that the customer can decide what is more important to them, price or aesthetics, and which style of organization they prefer.

Our next highlight is on Our Family Plays Games
Hailing from Omaha, OFPG is an African American family-owned business that is on a mission to promote growth and awareness, while fostering diversity, inclusion, and equity in the modern board game hobby. In 2021, they were part of Cephalofair Games' PAX Unplugged announcement for the miniatures line.
This year while Cephalofair was at PAX Unplugged, OFPG was in their home town of Omaha, NE at Christmas In the Village - a community event sponsored by the Empowerment Network. They had a pop-up shop offering a curated inventory of board games.

Cephalofair Games' Customer Support Specialist, Aaron, and his wife Andrea got into their holiday spirit and spread some cheer in their local community grocery store by dressing up as Mr. and Mrs.Claus for their communities annual Shop with an Officer event. Children in need during the Holidays are able to buy Christmas gifts while shopping with local police officers.
